Social Cinema w/ Yasmin Nur

Aug. 18th| 7PM – 10PM
Nortons Brewing Company

“Social Cinema is a new band, but not so new to the Wichita music scene. You may remember some of the members from a band called “Kill Vargas.” They’ve teamed up with a couple members of the NE rock band “Death Cow” to reform as this new supergroup, and 8/18 is the double release show celebration of their two debut EP’s, “Causing Scenes” and “Repeat.”
Hitting the ground running early 2021, the band has already toured regularly through the Midwest, as well as support bands like Slothrust, The Bad Bad Hats, The Ophelias, Kississippi, Worlds Greatest Dad, and more.
Social Cinema is no stranger to packed rooms, and have already gained some hype from their energetic live shows and groovy melodic pop-rock songs. You can sense their experience: all the nights on the road in a beat-up 12-passenger, the years of daily practice; if this band hasn’t hit their 10,000 hours to become masters of their craft, they’ve got to be getting close.
Supporting the show will be local legend “Yasmin Nur” who has been taking Wichita by storm lately, building up her fanbase by relentless touring all over the US, as well as festival appearances and packed out ICT headline shows. Catch her before she really blows up and it’s too late to say “I saw her before she was huge!”
TF Bundy will also be on the bill. A live act to behold, this band makes waves in the underground with their loud, noisy-yet-melodic sound and their hectic performances. These guys have paid their dues and made a name for themselves in the ICT (with members grinding for years in previous bands like Sutphin and Sharon Hankees) and it’s no surprise why they are one of the most hyped new Wichita groups. Come see for yourself!
This show is free and all ages! This will kick off Social Cinema’s “Causing Scenes in the Midwest Tour.” Come support your music scene!
